Julia holds the position of Environmental Justice Editor at the Heinrich Böll Foundation. As a journalist, she focuses primarily on socio-environmental conflicts, agroecology, and the resistance of traditional peoples.

She has previously worked as a reporter and photographer for outlets such as Brasil de Fato, Agência Pública, De Olho Nos Ruralistas, and InfoAmazonia, and has contributed to others including Repórter Brasil, Amazônia Real, and The Intercept Brasil.

She is currently pursuing a master's degree in Social Sciences in Development, Agriculture, and Society at UFRRJ.
