Technical note TFFF: controversial solution to deforestation

In this study, we aim to analyze Concept Note 3.0 of the Tropical Forest Forever Facility (TFFF) , constructed by Brazil and the result of a process that began at the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 28) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) , held in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). We will present the organizational elements of the TFFF defined to date, analyzing the creation of this financial mechanism.

O Brasil desponta no cenário internacional como potência emergente e líder na América Latina, ainda que marcada por posicionamentos ambíguos referentes aos direitos humanos. O país também ganha papel de destaque no G20 e nos BRICS. Nos próximos anos, o país estará ainda mais em evidência ao sediar eventos de escala global como a Copa do Mundo (2014) e os Jogos Olímpicos e Paraolímpicos (2016). Nesse contexto, acompanhamos a ampliação das novas dimensões do Brasil como ator global, com especial atenção para a atuação do país no G20 e nos BRICS, visando a participação da sociedade civil nos espaços de legitimação democrática. Além disso, promovemos debates e estudos em nível regional, nacional e internacional, com o objetivo de fomentar os diálogos Norte-Sul e Sul-Sul em torno da igualdade de gênero, da sustentabilidade e do respeito aos direitos humanos.
